Custom software development

Build software around how your organization works. Growth Mode develops custom applications when disconnected tools, manual work or an off-the-shelf product cannot support the operation you need.

Headquartered in East Syracuse, serving Syracuse and Central New York with technology engineering delivered nationwide.

Discuss your workflow
01Where it helps

Practical problems worth solving.

Your process does not fit the available tools

Teams work around software with spreadsheets and extra steps. A tailored workflow application can bring the important tasks, information and permissions together.

Customers and staff need a shared place to work

Requests, documents and status updates are spread across email and phone calls. A portal or web application can give each audience access to the information and actions appropriate to them.

A legacy system limits the next step

Fragile applications and disconnected data make changes difficult. Assess what to retain, what to connect and what to replace before starting a rebuild.

02What the work can include

Concrete deliverables, scoped to your operation.

  • Requirements and application architecture
  • Custom web applications and operational workflows
  • Customer or internal portals with appropriate access
  • APIs and integrations with existing systems
  • Data migration and acceptance testing
  • Deployment, documentation, training and support planning

A custom application needs business input as well as engineering. Scope, ownership, acceptance, third-party costs and maintenance are defined in the project agreement. We do not publish a universal price or turnaround because requirements and integrations differ.

03Process & expectations

From discovery to working technology.

  1. 01

    Understand the operation

Define users, daily work, constraints and the outcome. Identify the smallest useful scope rather than carrying every legacy workaround into a new system.

  2. 02

    Design the application

Work through the data, permissions, interfaces and connections. Agree how the organization will evaluate the completed functionality.

  3. 03

    Build and validate

Develop the application and integrations, reviewing representative workflows and handling errors before production deployment.

  4. 04

    Implement and maintain

Plan migration, user training and rollout. Establish the infrastructure, security and maintenance arrangements the application will require.

04Common questions

Before you begin.

Should we build custom software or buy a product?

We assess both. Configure an existing product when it meets the operational need; build custom functionality when the process or integration requirements justify it.

Can the application connect to our current tools?

Often, but access and integration options must be checked. APIs, export formats, vendor restrictions and authentication requirements shape the design.

Do you help users move to the new system?

Data migration, documentation, training and change management are existing Growth Mode capabilities. Their scope is agreed alongside the application work.

Is Business OS an example of this approach?

Yes. Business OS is part of the Growth Mode ecosystem and describes tailored operating systems connecting people, processes and data. It is an own-product example, not a customer case study.

Describe the application your operation is missing.

Send an inquiry. We review the context, arrange a discussion and help identify practical next steps. Project scope and expectations follow from the actual requirements.
